We’re moving to Singapore!

When I was 12 and 13, I lived in Singapore for two years and attended a local primary school called Jurong East Primary School. I never thought I’d go back there to live, as my focus was on moving to Australia.

Last week, our application for EntrePass was approved, which means that we will be moving to Singapore and setting up our company operations there. It’s an exciting new chapter that also feels like a homecoming - my previous experience of living there made it an easy ‘yes’ for me.

As we prepare for the move, there are various administrative tasks to take care of and events to coordinate to ensure a seamless move. This is one of those times I’m thankful we don’t have more ‘things’ to move - kids, pets, cars, or a house. At the same time, I am also thankful to know that I don’t need to throw anything away - a contrast to the past when I had to rid of all my possessions, save 2 suitcases, every year or two.

Sometimes people ask me ‘Where is home for you?’. My answer will always be ‘Home is where Edward is’. My willingness to let go of attachment to ‘things’ is mirrored in my equal commitment to cultivating a strong and meaningful dynamic between us.

Our plan is to arrive in Singapore around the end of May and settle in somewhere along the East Coast. Once we’re settled in, we will be delighted to host anyone who wants to visit 🙂 (please do!).

Art

I have a passion for art.

I have a passion for original design, for harmonious compositions, and for art to speak to the soul. I want to create pieces that last, that age better with time.

Good things take time to create. After a long break from drawing, I picked up my pencil again, only to feel like giving up within minutes. But then I told myself, "Just five more minutes." Before I knew it, those five minutes stretched into five hours, and I watched as an image slowly came to life before my eyes.

I want to take this seriously and channel my creative energy with clarity, no longer letting it drift aimlessly like a cloud waiting to be harnessed. With that in mind, I will be creating a series of animal prints in charcoal—my first official collection as an artist.

Favourite Finds & Recommendations

Books: Steve Jobs by Isaacson Watson. Did you know? Pixar was almost going bankrupt at one point, when Steve Jobs made a successful bet on it’s IPO, after the release of it’s first animated film - Toy Story.

Plant Kits: DIY plant starter kits are so easy to use! I’m currently planting tomato, lavender, and basil.

Everyday I wake up I count the number of new sprouts that have sprung up.
